According to Apple this smaller size takes up 24% less than a traditional full size keyboard. It is made of the same aluminum that Apple has grown famous for using in all of their latest products and it gives off a quality feel that I would expect to last a long time. The keys are a low profile design with a matte white finish that looks great, but does get dirty easily.
It was super easy to set up. Apple supplies your first batch of 2 double A batteries(the new version needs only two vs the older version needed 3). and you power on the keyboard, turn on your Bluetooth through settings and then pair the device. It will prompt you to type a 4 digit code into your keyboard and then hit return and then it instantly works.
In the matter of function, the Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard MC184LL/B performs very well and works exactly as you’d expect it. Each keystroke on the Apple wireless keyboard is precise and pleasing, only requiring a short travel distance thanks to the low profile keys. The keyboard works excellent with a Mac computer as it has all the necessary shortcuts (located on the function keys) to make our lives easier and more productive. When used with an iPad or iOS device, the keyboard works flawlessly and is an excellent way to make your typing experience more pleasant.
I found Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard MC184LL/B to be a decent buy if you’re in the market for a compact wireless keyboard for your Mac or iOS device. In my case, I found the smaller size to be a bit uncomfortable and the wireless to bring potential issues as I’d need to worry about replacing batteries and lost connections. If these aspects won’t bother you and you’re fine with the lack of a number-pad then this keyboard is an solid choice. Personally, I’m going to stick with the wired model as I’d choose the additional space and USB requirement in exchange for added comfort, use of the number-pad, and lack of batteries.

The Logitech Bluetooth Easy-Switch Keyboard K811 for Mac, iPad and iPhone is an excellent keyboard. it offers a near-perfect typing experience, one of the best of any keyboard tested. The low-profile keys are perfect for touch typists, and likewise the rubber keys don’t feel soft. They have a slight jump and remain completely noiseless. The Logitech Bluetooth Easy-Switch Keyboard K811 for Mac, iPad and iPhone is a pleasure to type on. Switching to another keyboard afterwards is very difficult.And the “easy-switch”, a selection of three buttons that changes to an alternate Bluetooth radio so that up to three different devices can be paired with the K811. This makes it especially easy to type on your desktop, switch over to your iPad, and again switch to your iPhone (or any Bluetooth device). Even if you only use two devices, this is the fastest and most convenient way to switch between them. I still firmly believe that Bluetooth is a fairly weak technology, but the K811 makes it perfectly manageable.
In design terms, Logitech’s keyboard is perhaps not as elegant as Apple’s, but that’s a subjective thing and in any case the difference is minimal. It sits at a slightly lower angle so it feels different at first but once that passes, it’s just as comfortable to type on.And it has significant advantages. First, it’s backlit, which makes typing in low light a little more pleasant. It has an on/off switch too. That’s far simpler than the single button on Apple’s Bluetooth keyboard, which has to be pressed and held to turn the keyboard on or off. Apple’s solution results in a better looking device but it’s less useful because there is no way to tell whether Apple’s keyboard is switched on without pressing the button.
The other big deal about this Logitech Bluetooth Easy-Switch Keyboard K811 for Mac, iPad and iPhone is the Easy-Switch capability, which is conveniently implemented as the F1, F2, and F3 buttons. Easy-Switch lets you pair the keyboard with up to three devices — say an iPad, iPhone, and a Mac — and then use it with just a tap on one of the buttons. There’s no re-pairing required. In my tests with the keyboard, it paired quickly every time with every device.
While Apple’s Bluetooth Keyboard is thinner from the battery compartment to the front, the rear section of that device is larger, due to the fact that it uses AAA batteries for power. The Easy-Switch, on the other hand, has a rechargeable battery, and as such, is thinner overall.Last, but most certainly not least, are the keys of the Easy-Switch. This is the design element that really put this keyboard over the top for me. As much as I have always liked the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, which has excellent keys in its own right, the Easy-Switch takes things to the next level.
Another very interesting feature is backlit illumination. Logitech took a step further, and improved it. Keys are illuminated very brightly, but you can adjust its brightness using F8 and F9 keys. Also, this keyboard features sensors which automatically adjust illumination according to light in your room. Finally, illumination will work only while using this keyboard. Once you remove your hands, illumination will turn off, and turn on once you continue using it.
In case you a need keyboard using which you can control your Mac and iOS devices at the same time, Easy Switch keyboard is the perfect choice. I would recommend it even if you simply need a new keyboard for your Mac, since it is pleasure to use it and comes with some amazing features.

Logitech created the K810 as a compact Bluetooth enabled keyboard to be primarily compatible with Windows 8, but as a side feature it’s also compatible with Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8 tablets and smartphones as well as PCs (it’ll work just fine with Macs as well). But I honestly don’t get it. Why make such a good compact keyboard and then ruin it somewhat with a suite of dedicated yet lacking iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 function keys? The K810 is such a good keyboard to type on, it should have been designed to be used as a desktop keyboard with the PC or Mac complete with the appropriate keys. The good news is that this is one highly portable keyboard. It’ll look amazing on your desk while take up very little space, or fit into the smallest gear bag with ease. All without compromising spacious functionality.
I’d like to think that I’m pretty picky about keyboards – after all, I do type thousands of words every single day. I’ve tried many, many different brands and keyboard models, and it’s one of the key features that can make or break any laptop that I’d even consider buying. Thus, when I heard about Logitech’s K810 cross-platform Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech, $99), I knew I had to give it a shot.
For those who may not be up to speed with the latest keyboard offerings, the K810 is a full-size backlit Bluetooth keyboard that works with Windows, Android, and iOS. While cross-compatibility isn’t a first for a wireless keyboard, the K810 is unique in its ability to pair with three different devices at the same time. Toggling through each one is simple, thanks to the dedicated keys at the top of the keyboard. In theory, this should make text input across several devices insanely easy – just pair the keyboard with your PC, Android phone, and tablet, and away you go. After that, you can type a document on your computer, quickly switch over and respond to a text message on your phone, and then jump over to your tablet to respond to an email.
The idea here is that this is an easily portable keyboard to use with a tablet. The design of the keyboard is simple yet attractive, with a brushed aluminium effect face.There’s a fair gap between each key that minimises accidental presses, but does add a bit of strain to your fingers when typing. The Windows key comes with the new Windows logo, but otherwise there are no more Windows 8-centric buttons as there are on the Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard.The differences between the two products are sometimes obvious, such as the aforementioned slightly larger size, and the attractive backlighting of the keys.
And that brings us to how it works. We have to say, we like it a lot. The battery seems to last ages, which is handy because we’ve carried it about whenever we’ve needed to work on a laptop for any length of time.
Most importantly, the typing. Here, where it needs to be, the K810 is strong. All the keys work with minimal fuss – that sounds standard, but we test a lot of keyboards, and we’ve seen all sorts of strange key-based absurdity. Typing can also be done quickly, with great accuracy. We didn’t notice any real slowdown between the 810 and our full-sized keyboard. Indeed, much of this review was written on the K810, including some of the words that are spelt correctly.
We liked the backlight, it’s bright enough to let you see what you’re doing in subdued conditions, but not so bright as to be overwhelming – our laptops all seem to want to give the sun a run for its money in brightness.
The automatic standby is good, honestly, we might prefer that it was a little less rapid to switch off, as we often take a 30-second break, to look something up, drink some tea or gaze at YouTube videos
Getting set up was nice and easy too. Logitech allows you to pair the keyboard with three separate devices. These can then be mapped to one of three function keys. The idea here is, if you need to carry your phone and your laptop, it’s possible to just switch from one to the other, without the need to pair and unpair. It’s a nifty idea, and it works well enough as long as you don’t press the button by accident.
